Water is an elixir of life.
Mother lived to be 99-1/2, which was something, seeing her five younger brothers only lived into their 60s and 70s. I encouraged her to drink her H2O, and when she did, it made a difference in how she felt. It helped with constipation, dehydration and energy. If she had been more faithful in drinking regularly, who knows, she might have lived to be 101!
Our bodies are made up of 75% fluid so I'm told. We lose some of it every time we even speak, as well as when we sweat, and of course when we urinate. This needs to be replenished ongoingly. There's nothing so cleansing as good as Nature's perfect liquid, inside and out. If we wait until we're thirsty to drink, we're dehydrated, and our bodies are starved for it.
Our daughter didn't like to drink, and so she would add some lemon juice to make it tastier. It worked for her. On the other hand, my husband doesn't like to take the time to drink his agua, and when he's thirsty, he prefers fruit or vegetable juice. That's better than not drinking fluids at all, but it's still not the same as the pure stuff. So I pour a cup of water and add a little juice at the top, and he likes it better that way.
One place I read suggested drinking as many liquid ounces a day as 1/2 of one's body pounds in weight. For instance, if you weigh 150 pounds, that divided in half equals 75 ounces needed, or 9-1/3 cups a day. Aw, go ahead and make it 10.
Another way to tell if you are drinking enough is to see if your urine is almost clear. A dark yellow indicates your kidneys are in dire need of liquid to help wash waste away. Keep them happy and feel great. Drink more water! A water ionizer is good for getting a healthy pH. I found an inexpensive one you might like to try; just click here to see it.
